- Wednesday, April 11, 2012
To participate, dogs must be under six years old, healthy, and current on their rabies vaccination. Proof of vaccination will be required on the day of surgery.
Space is limited so book your appointment in advance! Please call the Spay/Neuter Clinic at 925.977.7900, ext. 494 to make an appointment. Leave a message and an ARF representative will return your call within three business days.
Altered pit bulls are generally healthier: spaying a female reduces her chance of developing mammary tumors, and neutering reduces the risk of prostate cancer in male dogs. They exhibit less aggression towards other dogs, are less likely to roam, and can't contribute to the tragic pit bull overpopulation problem. Excess numbers of this breed mean that pit bulls represent most of the dogs still being euthanized in many animal shelters.
Free Pit Fix Days are just one of the many ways ARF is helping to reduce future numbers of homeless, unwanted animals.
