ARF U offers classes for people and dogs, beginners and experts. All classes are held in Nestle Purina Dog Training Pavilion and Training Field at ARF's shelter, 2890 Mitchell Drive in Walnut Creek, California (corner of Mitchell Drive and Oak Grove Road).

Tricks! Workshop
Teach your dog some fun tricks while you explore training techniques! Get familiar with luring, shaping, capturing, modeling, and sequencing as you and your dog start building a repertoire. We'll work on paw moves such as Shake, High 5, Take an Oath, and March: experiment with positions including Stand, Bow, Bang!, and Roll Over: improve heeling and add some fancy turns: learn to pick things up and (for retrievers of all sorts) Put the Toys Away: and try both paw and nose targeting to Ring the Bell and turn tap lights on and off. Clickers are available for $3 – use is optional.
Class session: Four weeks. Dogs attend all classes. Cost is $100.

Reliable Recall Workshop
Begin to train your dog to come to you every time you call them no matter what the distraction. Training a strong recall is great for your dog's safety as well as long distance control, hiking, off leash fun and more. Class will meet in the ARF Pavilion.
Prerequisite: Basic manners or
equivalent skill level.

Leash Monster Workshop
In this four week workshop you will train your dog to pay attention to you while out on a walk. No more "Who's walking whom?" comments from passers-by. You'll have your dog in a fancy heel that won't fail to impress!
