Judy BowmanJudy Bowman, CPDT-KA, CTC, AKC Canine Good Citizen Evaluator
Owner: Compleat City Dog
Judy has over 30 years experience teaching both dogs and humans. A graduate of the San Francisco SPCA Academy for Dog Trainers with a Certificate in Training and Counseling (CTC), Judy is also a Certified Professional Dog Trainer—Knowledge Assessed (CPDT-KA). She refined her clicker training skills at the Operant Conditioning Workshop, also known as Bob Bailey’s Chicken Camp.

A member of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers (APDT), Judy also belongs to the Mixed Breed Dog Club of California with her rescued tuxedo dog, Spikie Rose. They can frequently be found taking classes together throughout the Bay Area.

Judy teaches puppy primers, basic training, Canine Good Citizen test preparation, recall, rally, and advanced manners at ARF and other East Bay locations. She has taught at ARF since 2004.


Lindsey Dohlman, CPDT-KA, CTC, CPCT
Owner: Paws & Praise Dog Training
Lindsey is a Certified Pet Care Technician who worked as a veterinary assistant before receiving her Certificate in Training and Counseling from the San Francisco SPCA Academy for Dog Trainers. A member of APDT, Lindsey specializes in shy and fearful dogs, and continues to work with her own shy and fearful dog, Sibley

Formerly one of ARF’s shelter dog trainers, enriching the lives of the dogs during their stay in the shelter and training new behaviors to prepare them for adoption, Lindsey is currently ARF’s Animal Care & Adoptions Manager. She teaches ARF seminar classes as well as offering individual consultations.

 

 

Judy Gamet, BS Dance Education
Owner: Dogs Can Dance
After forming Motion Dynamics, a dance and aerobics business, Judy decided to combine her lifelong career of teaching dance with her love of training dogs. She credits her Rottweiler, Meadowood’s Bella Mayhaus, CGC, as the impetus behind Dogs Can Dance, a canine freestyle program. Judy has taught freestyle workshops throughout the United States, promoting her DVD series, and her new program for senior dogs and overweight dogs, Paws 4 Fitness. Bella’s legacy lives on in Luc and Annie, Judy’s current competition partners. Judy is also a member of APDT.

Judy teaches all levels of freestyle at ARF—from beginner to competition—and also offers private consultations for personal freestyle choreography throughout the Bay Area. Judy has taught at ARF since 2006.

Narae Kim
Narae (pronounced na′-ray) has been participating in agility competitions with her rescue dogs Zulu (MAD, PD1, CGC, CL 2), Bianca (MAD, JM, SAM, PD1, CL2), and Fergie (AD), since 2004. Her students currently compete at all levels—including Master and Excellent—in events for the United States Dog Agility Association (USDAA), American Kennel Club (AKC), and Canine Performance Events (CPE). Narae is also a regularly featured writer in Joker Book, a monthly journal for agility trainers and master level handlers.

Through Border Collie Rescue of Northern California, Narae has fostered over 30 border collies. Narae is also a member of the all-breed agility club, The Bay Team. With Zulu as her muse, Narae creates and sells dog toys through her company, Zulu’s Performance Dog Toys.

Narae currently teaches all levels of agility, from beginner to competition level, at ARF. She also teaches in Martinez. Narae has taught at ARF since 2006.

Sara Scott, ANWI, CPDT–KA, AKC Canine Good Citizen Evaluator
Owner: What's Up Dog?
Sara is a certified professional dog trainer and behavioral counselor and has been training dogs and their people since 2000. She received her certification in pet training from the Petsmart Pet Training Academy and graduated from the Marin Humane Society Canine Behavior Academy I and II. Sara is a professional member of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers and is a certified Canine Good Citizen evaluator with the American Kennel Club.

Sara has extensive experience with pit bulls and has fostered over a dozen in her home. From 2006-2010, Sara served as lead dog trainer for BAD RAP's (Bay Area Dog Lovers Responsible About Pitbulls') adoption and education programs, Pit Bull Hall and The Ambassadog Project. Sara has been teaching group dog training classes for over ten years and has taught for the Oakland SPCA, San Francisco SPCA and Tony La Russa's Animal Rescue Foundation. Sara is the owner and head trainer of What's Up Dog? training. Her private practice specializes in resolving leash reactivity and aggressive behavior problems.

Sara is an associate K9 Nose Work instructor with the National Association of Canine Scent Work. Her dog Mikey, a pit bull rescued from a fight bust in the the Midwest; recently earned her NW1 title with a second place overall out of 50 dogs along with the Harry Award given to the best performing rescue dog.

Sara's other dogs include Leroy,CGC, a rescued pit bull who survived Hurricane Katrina and Finntroll du Loups du Soleil, a Belgian Malinois. She is currently training Finntroll in the obedience, agility and protection elements required for French Ring Sport and Mondioring Sport competitions.
