Mobile (On-Site) Shredding is a highly secure shredding process. Shred Works certified drivers pick up confidential materials and bring them directly to the shredding truck. The hydraulic lift on the truck then raises the container to the shredder and your confidential information is shredded in minutes. As an added security feature, all high-tech shredding trucks are equipped with a camera and video monitor system. This allows both driver and customer the opportunity to verify that all confidential information has indeed been shredded.
After the driver brings the truck with shredded materials back to the plant, everything is shredded a second time as part of their double shredding process. The shredded materials are then baled and shipped to a paper mill for recycling.
How big is a “standard”size box?Â
Generally it’s the size of a banker’s box or the size that copy paper comes in. Approximately 18” x 12” x 9”.
Is there a limit on the number of boxes?
No limit – bring in as many as you have.
Do I need an appointment?
No appointment necessary. Our quick and easy drive-thru makes it go fast.
Can I keep my boxes?
Yes if you prefer. If not, we will breakdown the boxes and recycle them for you.
Should we remove paper clips, fasteners, staples, or binders?
The shredder can destroy the above mentioned items but please remove any rubber bands.
Do I need to bring the boxes to ARF for shredding?
Yes. ARF will have a drive through setup in the parking lot to get you in and out quickly. Volunteers will help unload your car.Â
Can I watch the documents being shredded?
Yes. You may park your vehicle and stay to watch the papers shred.
How secure is the shredding process?
ARF volunteers will empty your boxes into a large container. Shred Works uses a hydraulic lift to raise the container to their shredding truck and your confidential papers are shredded in minutes. As an added security feature, their high-tech shredding trucks are equipped with a camera and video monitor system. This allows both Shred Works and the customer the opportunity to verify all confidential information has indeed been shred.
Once the truck returns to the plant, everything is shredded a second time.
What form of payment does ARF take?
ARF accepts cash or credit card. We are unable to accept checks.
How much of the proceeds will go to ARF?
Shred Works takes a very small flat fee to cover their expense in gas and truck operation for the event. All proceeds after that come directly to ARF.Â
